Bookstore Poem #47. What do you call a silhouette made of light?

Standing in for the bookstore today was the Ballard branch of the Seattle Public Library…

My closed eyes
are blinded
by the one before me

I don’t know the scene
but I recognize her

I take a breath
and open my eyes
