Alphabet Poem #17

The Q poem.

Quiet

I have folded the towels and put them away
the socks are in the top drawer
I have a few more clothes to wash
to help pass the time
then I can start on some of the cleanup
I have been putting off for too long—
old clothes, papers, the clutter on my desk
the glasses on the counter
the dishes in the sink
the laundry in the hamper
I’ll have to stop for dinner
then it’s time for bed
That’ll leave me plenty to do tomorrow
dusting and vacuuming
and taking out the trash
When I’m finished
this place will be as empty as it feels
