National Poetry Writing Month: Day #10 (April 10, 2013)

Not particularly comfortable with today’s prompt—probably not a good idea at this particular time. I did take it as a starting point, though…

No, I don’t think
I’d want to go back now
We had our moment

The difference between
then and now continues to grow
The line between them is but a moment

Time will stretch and contract
and twist
and contort

while we hide
behind our hardened masks
strangers behind empty shells

and the moment will soon be gone
